We stayed here one night before hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and two nights when we finished the hike. We would definitely recommend at least a two night rest after the hike! We were a bit ill from the hike so it was an excellent place to rest and recover, the staff would check in on how we were and there is a pharmacy a short walk down the lane too (if required). We really liked how it was quiet, set in a garden (monkeys, birds and tortoises are often around to watch) and a little away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Moshi- it was a lovely small lodge great for avoiding large big built up hotels. The pool area was kept really clean and tidy with plenty of loungers for all guests. There were plenty of other seating options around too, including private table and chairs by your room. The beds in the room were super comfortable with mosquito nets and a fan that kept you at a good temperature. It was nice to have the communal areas open air with traditional roofed ‘gazebos’. All of the staff were very welcoming and kind. There was an area you can securely leave your main/large bags if needed and there is a laundry service. The food was tasty, with vegetarian options, we tried to burgers, pizzas and evening meals (this was a small menu that they put on a chalk board for you to choose from in advance). The evening meal food is super tasty! The breakfast was just alright, as it was a buffet-style which isn’t how we would prefer it.

I just loved Honey Badger Lodge! It is comfortable, friendly, relaxed and very 'genuine.' I loved watching the monkeys playing in the gardens, listening to the children singing at the school just next door, getting back from a trip and enjoying a cocktail by the bar. Okay, so sometimes the electricity was a bit patchy and the the wifi would drop off for a short while, or the ice machine wasn't working one day, and the kitchen isn't open 24/7 (which is absolutely fair enough in a small lodge with only a handful of guests at any time). But that's Tanzania for you! If you're going to get up-tight about stuff like that, you're probably in the wrong country. Food is good, our room was lovely (and huge!). Staff are all delightful.

(technical) things that are not oke are repaired quickly. My toilet had a small problem and they gave me another (bigger room immediately. There was a small problem with the cold water supply and the next day the water pipes were dug out and the problem was solved. Apart from that , the staff are really nice and attentive.

Peaceful oasis in the middle of Moshi, with great food and view on Mount Kilimanjaro. Spacious African rooms and nice swimming pool. Honey badger lodge actually is part of a local cooperation with a school to teach young children and prepare them for further education. By staying here you also support a social purpose.

We loved our stay at the Honey Badger Lodge! Super beautiful pool area, restaurant and huts. Our room was very big with a separate shower room and bathroom. The staff were very friendly and I loved my massage. One of the best ones I had in years! The food was all right, nothing amazing but good value for money.
